Traditional Chinese Medicine, often called TCM, is a long-established system of health and wellness with roots going back thousands of years. It takes a holistic view of the person, considering the body, emotions, mind, lifestyle, and environment as interconnected.
This course introduces the core ideas, history, and practices associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine. You will explore concepts such as Yin and Yang, Qi, meridians, Chinese dietetics, herbal traditions, acupressure, self-massage, Tui Na, and Qi Gong.
The course is designed for educational and personal-development purposes. It is not a medical qualification and does not authorise you to diagnose, treat, prescribe, perform acupuncture, or use any protected professional title. Requirements to practise Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, or related therapies vary by country, state, province, and territory.
📘 A holistic approach to health and wellbeing
Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches health differently from conventional Western medicine. Rather than focusing only on individual symptoms, TCM looks at patterns, lifestyle, balance, and the person as a whole.
In TCM theory, wellbeing is linked to the movement and balance of Qi, blood, Yin and Yang, and the body’s internal systems. When these are thought to become disrupted or imbalanced, discomfort or health concerns may arise.
In this course, you will learn how these traditional concepts are understood and how they are used within TCM-based wellbeing practices.
This course does not replace medical care. Anyone with a medical condition, symptoms, or health concerns should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

This course combines theory with practical exercises and reflective activities. You will explore how TCM traditionally observes the individual through questioning, visual observation, lifestyle patterns, and other non-invasive approaches.
The course is organised into four main phases:
1) Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine
2) Health and imbalance in TCM theory
3) TCM-style observation and assessment
4) Traditional Chinese Medicine practices
Throughout the course, you will study the 14 main meridians, selected traditional herbs and remedies, food principles, and the foundations of Chinese dietary theory.
You will also find safety notes and practice warnings throughout the program, helping you understand the limits of non-medical wellbeing advice and when someone should be referred to a qualified healthcare professional.

This course does not qualify you to practise as a doctor, Chinese medicine practitioner, acupuncturist, herbalist, or regulated healthcare professional. Professional practice requirements depend on your local laws and regulatory bodies.

The course includes 15 modules. You can study at your own pace and organise your learning around your personal and professional schedule.
Once enrolled, you receive access to the course materials, which you can consult online or download where available. You will also have access to a discussion space where you can connect with other learners.
To complete the course and receive your certificate of completion, you must pass the final assessment covering the course content.
The certificate confirms that you have completed this educational course. It does not represent a licence to practise medicine, diagnose conditions, treat patients, prescribe remedies, perform acupuncture, or use protected professional titles.
