Alma Oasis was created in 2023, brought to life from the shared vision of two individuals captivated by the beauty and mystery of daily life but also by the climate problems and unmet solutions in our society. Our vision is to inspire the environmentally curious and encourage change in individual behaviors to have a positive impact on the earth, however large or small.
‘Alma’ means the soul, reflecting the essence of our being and ‘Oasis’ signifies a flourishing ecosystem in an otherwise arid world. Together, Alma Oasis represents the harmonious coexistence of the human spirit and nature, a place where individuals learn to thrive on a constantly evolving planet.
As a newly certified sylvotherapist and someone coming from a professional background outside traditional wellness, I found this course both enlightening and rewarding. It does an excellent job of grounding forest bathing in science and explaining the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. The modules on forest chemistry and sensory activation were especially valuable and will continue to inform my own nature-based practice.
Overall, the course provides a strong foundation for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the forest’s healing power. I am grateful for what I learned and look forward to applying these principles in my own work with authenticity and respect.
Very good experience thanks to the notions I pumped into. The practice with other members and interaction about the studied object to conduct sessions would be a surplus.
Thanks
This was a great intro course to Sylvotherapy with a lot of tools and exercises that can be used right away to offer Sylvotherapy to friends, family, and to start a career in the field. There is a lot of reading and so if you are more of a visual person then this may be a bit of a challenge. However, as you can complete it at your own pace, it is still a really great first step!
It's my feeling that anyone could skip through much of the course work and still achieve the same result. There is a great deal of information, research and reference materials, all of which are easy to access, easy to save and useful. However, I find the format of try, try, try again with multiple choice answers for assessment, means it is up to you to decide how thoroughly you want to learn your subject. I am a qualified forest school leader and beach school leader already, so for me, it was very important to immerse myself in further knowledge, so that I can confidently offer this as a service, but for some, it would be an easy way to gain a qualification, without actually learning the material.
I am gaining more knowledge every time I read or listen. I enjoy both, the written word and the audio. Very helpful. Great course to learn about out environment.
I find this course so interesting. I only wish they had videos to see some of this in action, as well as easily printable charts for future reference. The information provided is limited, but it's an excellent start for the price. Start here if you're interested in something, before you spend thousands on certifications. You can always add to this.
A really useful course packed with interesting and useful information. The only small issue I had, is that I am autistic and I found some of the questions a little obscure and difficult to understand
