Module 2 : The Grief Journey and Client Archetypes

Grief is not linear—and neither are your clients. This module explores the wave-like, cyclical nature of grief and how it intersects with shifting identity. You’ll be introduced to grief archetypes like The Protector, The Seeker, and The Dissociator—patterns that reflect how individuals cope, avoid, or spiritualize their grief. You’ll learn to recognize emotional defense mechanisms and gently guide clients toward authentic expression. We’ll also explore concepts like soul contracts and life scripts, allowing you to work with grief as a transformational threshold in your clients’ spiritual development.

You’ll learn to hold space for core emotions like sadness, anger, fear, and guilt—and how these may be expressed differently across cultures and personalities. This module emphasizes non-verbal communication, symbolic language, and intuitive tools for emotional release. You’ll gain techniques for helping clients safely express grief through journaling, creative arts, dreamwork, metaphor, movement, and ritual. Module 4 : Holistic Health and Grief Integration

Grief lives in the nervous system, the tissues, the breath. In this module, you’ll study the physical impact of grief, including fatigue, immune suppression, sleep disruption, and chronic tension. You’ll learn to support clients in restoring energetic balance through integrative methods like grounding exercises, herbal support, breathwork, and restorative movement. Practices from somatic therapy and subtle energy work will help you identify where grief is held in the body and support clients in gently shifting it. This has been a really interesting and valuable course. The content has been thought-provoking, insightful, and has provided a broad exploration of grief support from a holistic perspective. One area that could enhance the learning experience further would be offering the information in a wider variety of formats, as different learning styles benefit from different approaches. However, I cannot fault the quality and depth of the content itself. Some aspects of the course have confirmed and strengthened the way I already work with people, while other areas have introduced new perspectives, ideas, and approaches that I can integrate into my practice. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on seeing grief as an individual experience and the importance of presence, compassion, and creating safe spaces for people to process their loss. Overall, this course has expanded my knowledge, given me new tools and reflections to draw upon, and has reinforced my commitment to supporting people through grief with sensitivity, understanding, and integrity.
