I'm a newbie on Art Therapy, therefore excited to learn! However, when I booked the course I expected to have some video lesson with an expert speaking, I was a little disappointed to find only PDFs and recordings. I like the exercises and the prompt to guide the conversation and some of the live lesson recordings, it would be great to have more on coaching. I've noticed that sometimes the text is repetitive or not too deep, and I've found a leftover author note. In module 3 for example on color theory and connection with psychology and emotions I would have expected a deeper explanation, I could have found the same content in other blogs. The historical part on color is a little superficial and not exhaustive of all cultures.

The course overall is very comprehensive. Consequently, the use of technical jargon is often overwhelming especially when discussing the parts of the brain and their function. Stories and examples help to concretize learning. The video recap is greatly appreciated since I am a highly visual learner.

I love this course! I wish I knew about this course when I worked through my childhood traumas a year ago. But I am happy that I will be able to add what I learn to my future practice and be better able to help people like me.

Odd mix of holistic attempt and tactical

Most of this is very tactical, and very coach-led (I prefer a co-created approach). Occasionally the language will refer to the soul, the inner being, but again with very tactical cognitive language that I find jarring. The scripts are also universally convenient in their outcome - there's no mention of what the coach should do when their experience doesn't follow the script. Having trained in coaching I'm find this interesting for ideas on how to run a coaching business, but I'm glad I'm not reliant on the coaching elements of it to be successful.
