A Practical, Compassionate and Neurodiversity-Affirming Course
I really enjoyed this course and can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to support individuals with dyscalculia in a compassionate, practical, and neurodiversity-affirming way. What I appreciated most was the overall philosophy behind the training. Throughout the course, the focus remained on dignity, strengths, nervous system regulation, practical adaptations, and creating sustainable support systems instead of trying to "fix" people. I found this perspective incredibly valuable. The modules are well structured and easy to follow, with plenty of practical examples, case studies, coaching dialogues, reflection exercises, and ready-to-use ideas that can immediately be transferred into coaching practice. Although the course is introductory rather than highly academic, it provides an excellent foundation and successfully integrates current concepts such as cognitive load, executive functioning, trauma-informed coaching, self-advocacy, and strengths-based practice into one coherent coaching framework. As someone who already works as a learning therapist, I still took away many useful ideas—particularly around identity, nervous system regulation, ethical coaching, and translating support into real-life situations beyond school mathematics. Thank you for creating such a thoughtful and genuinely human-centred course.
