More Than a Certification — A Calling

Completing my Assisted Equine Therapy certification has been one of the most meaningful and transformational experiences of my life. This journey deepened not only my understanding of horses and holistic wellness, but also my understanding of myself, human connection, emotional regulation, and the power of authentic presence. What I appreciated most about this program was the balance between ethical equine care, trauma-informed practices, somatic awareness, and the recognition of horses as true co-facilitators in the healing process. The training challenged me to grow personally while also providing practical tools to create emotionally safe, grounded, and heart-centered experiences for future clients. As someone transitioning from a career centered around helping people professionally into work focused on deeper healing and personal transformation, this certification felt incredibly aligned with my purpose. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge, support, and wisdom shared throughout this experience and excited to continue creating meaningful equine-assisted experiences through Spirit Path Equine Healing. This was an engaging and thought-provoking module that provided a strong foundation in contemporary sex therapy practice. The content was well-structured and balanced theory with practical clinical application effectively. I particularly valued the focus on cultural competence, trauma-informed care, communication skills, and the integration of biopsychosocial approaches. The module encouraged critical reflection and increased my confidence in discussing sensitive topics professionally and ethically. Overall, a highly informative and valuable learning experience.

Good basics

I found the course helpful and well structured. It was a good additive to what I have already read in and learned from some books about NLP. It helped me with better understanding of some concepts and exercises which weren't absolutely clear yet. The only thing, that made me give only 4 stars is that there were some mistakes in the module tests, where the clearly correct answer was marked as wrong. -

Great learning tools to incorporate into daily work activites

I have since brought in bright colored plates to help a resident during meals who becomes overwhelmed at meals and refuses to eat because it does not look appealing, or she will just push it away. I am trying different color plates and put her food into small portions for her during meal times which the daughter has thanked me and staff is also now implementing. Also during calendar making for the activities I do everyday I am trying to take into consideration different ethnicities we may have and having socials to celebrate certain days that may be important to them or be part of their past. I feel like I took LOTS of notes so the course took me longer because I would pause the video often to make sure I was taking good notes with information I might need later. I am happy I took the course and it certainly feels like a great course and certification for me and one I will continue to grow from during my work day, I will think of tools I learned-especially more visual cues for some individuals having a hard time understanding what I am saying with my verbal communication.
