Overview
🌺 A holistic, research-informed training for coaches who support clients living with OCD
Step into a role that’s deeply needed in today’s mental health landscape: an OCD-aware coach who understands the condition, honours scope, and supports clients in their day-to-day lives, without trying to be their therapist.
🫂This training is designed for:
Life, mindset, somatic, spiritual and wellness coaches
Yoga, breathwork, nervous-system and embodiment practitioners
Peer supporters, mentors, spiritual directors, and helping professionals who regularly meet clients with obsessive-compulsive patterns
Therapists-in-training or allied health workers who want a coaching-lens view of OCD support
🪄 By the end of this 10-module training, you’ll be able to:
Speak about OCD in clear, everyday language that separates person from pattern
Map loops of thoughts, feelings, energy and behaviour—and design small, coach-appropriate experiments
Support clients with lifestyle, relationships, nervous system skills, values and meaning alongside their clinical treatment
Hold firm, compassionate scope boundaries so you never drift into diagnosis, ERP planning or medication advice
Build an OCD-aware practice that is ethical, energy-sustainable, and aligned with your unique voice and framework
This isn’t about promising cures. It’s about becoming the kind of grounded, holistic coach clients and clinicians feel safe to have on the team.
💫 Why This Course, Why Now – And an Invitation to Join
OCD is common, often misunderstood, and frequently under-treated. Even when people do access gold-standard care like CBT with Exposure and Response Prevention and appropriate medication, they still have to live day-to-day: getting out of bed, going to work, navigating family rituals, scrolling their phones, praying, creating, resting. That is where skilled, ethical, holistic coaching can change lives.
⏳ This training is different because it:
Is explicitly OCD-aware and research-informed while staying firmly non-clinical
Honours ERP and medication as primary treatments, and positions coaching as a support and skills container, not a substitute
Blends mind, body, energy, relationships, lifestyle and meaning in a grounded, non-hype way
Is trauma- and culture-aware, emphasizing consent, pacing and respect for diverse spiritual and family frames
Gives you not just concepts, but scripts, maps, exercises, case studies and practice structures you can adapt to your own work
If you want to support people with obsessive-compulsive patterns in a way that is safe, deeply human, and professionally clear, this course is built for you.
🏁 You’ll leave with:
A coherent, OCD-aware framework you can explain in one clear conversation
Practical tools for mapping loops, co-designing experiments, and building sustainable daily architecture
Language for boundaries, referrals, and collaboration with clinicians
A lived sense of your own coaching identity and long-term contribution in this space
When you’re ready, you’re invited to step into this work, not as a fixer or savior, but as a steady ally. Clients, families and clinical teams need OCD-aware coaches who can hold complexity with clarity and care. If that’s the practitioner you’re becoming, this training is your next step.

Modules
Course syllabus
You’ll learn how OCD is described in mental health care and how to translate that into non-pathologizing, client-friendly language. We unpack obsessions, compulsions, intrusive thoughts and loops, and show you how to describe them as patterns, not identity. You’ll explore the emotional, cognitive and behavioural layers of OCD, plus historical and cross-cultural frames? from sin and “weak will” to attachment, habit energy and imbalance. A core focus is ethics: scope of practice, red-flag indicators, consent language, and how to collaborate with therapists and psychiatrists without overstepping.
Here you explore OCD through the lenses of brain energy, arousal and subtle energy maps. You’ll learn how over-active error-checking circuits and chronic hyper- or hypo-arousal can feel like “buzzing,” “blocked,” or “stuck in the head” to clients. The module teaches you to use energy language safely, as metaphor and meaning, not medical claim, alongside brain-and-body explanations. You’ll design simple energetic mapping tools, explore emotional suppression as stored “charge,” and introduce tiny rebalancing practices (breath, visualization, nature-based grounding) that stay clearly within coaching scope and support, rather than replace, treatment.
This module shifts into the thinking patterns that fuel OCD. You’ll work with Observer Mind, helping clients move from “I am this thought” to “my mind is having a thought”, and practise language that gently decouples identity from mental content. You’ll learn to map core beliefs beneath OCD themes (inflated responsibility, perfectionism, intolerance of uncertainty) using tools like the Core Belief Map and “person vs. pattern” narratives. We integrate narrative coaching and values language so clients can rewrite identity stories from “I’m broken/dangerous” to “I’m a person with a sensitive system learning new patterns,” without doing therapy or exposure.
Module 4 gives you a trauma-informed, nervous-system literacy toolkit for OCD coaching. You’ll learn to explain sympathetic and parasympathetic states using “gas pedal / brake pedal” and the Window of Tolerance, and to help clients notice their own signs of hyper- and hypo-arousal. You’ll practise brief somatic tracking and orienting exercises that gather information rather than process trauma. Simple vagal-supportive practices, soft breath patterns, humming, sensory grounding and nature contact, are framed as optional supports that must not turn into new rituals or safety behaviours, and always remain secondary to ERP and clinical care.
Here you zoom out into everyday life design. You’ll look at how sleep, food, movement, time structure, digital habits and environmental factors can either inflame or ease obsessive pressure. The module guides you to co-create tiny, realistic experiments around sleep timing, blood-sugar-friendly eating, gentle movement menus, and “soft structure” time-blocking that reduces decision fatigue without becoming perfectionistic. You’ll also explore digital hygiene, reassurance scrolling, symptom Googling, message checking, and design kind screen plans that support ERP homework and nervous-system steadiness instead of feeding loops.
OCD is relational. This module shows you how obsessive patterns play out in partnerships, families, friendships and workplaces. You’ll learn to map inside vs. outside: what the client is trying to manage internally, and what others see and feel externally. We cover reassurance-seeking loops, family accommodation, and ways loved ones unknowingly reinforce compulsions. You’ll practise boundary scripts, psychoeducation for partners and parents, and culturally sensitive language around duty, care and obedience. The emphasis is always on helping clients communicate, set limits and reduce accommodation, without you becoming a mediator or doing couples/family therapy.
This is the behavioural heart of the course, approached from a coaching stance, not as DIY ERP. You’ll learn to map rituals as cue → urge → ritual → relief loops and create short ritual inventories that highlight function (safety-seeking, certainty-chasing, discomfort avoidance) and life cost. From there, you design safe micro-interrupts (one-breath pauses, label-and-park, brief delays) and low-intensity pattern-breaker experiments (delay, shorten, reorder) that help clients experience choice without turning coaching into treatment. We also explore values-based replacement actions and compassionate tracking so “progress” becomes about flexibility, time reclaimed and values lived, not just “zero rituals.”
By Module 8, your clients have many tools; this module teaches you how to help them weave those tools into a coherent life story. You’ll craft small anchor rituals of presence around existing habits (coffee, commuting, bedtime) that support values and self-respect without becoming compulsive. You’ll explore identity work—who the client is beyond OCD, and future-self perspectives that orient them toward legacy, contribution and meaning. We also look at spiritual and philosophical frames, differentiating supportive, compassion-based practices from scrupulosity-fuelled rituals, and keeping all such work clearly adjunctive to therapy.
This module turns you from skilled practitioner into someone who can run an OCD-aware coaching practice with clarity. You’ll design simple session arcs and multi-session journeys (education → awareness → experiments → integration), build ethical intake and consent processes, and write scope language you can say comfortably. We cover documentation, light metrics and dashboards, modular tool libraries, and how to set communication boundaries that prevent you from becoming a 24/7 reassurance source. You’ll also explore collaboration with clinicians, group and hybrid formats, and creating a practice that protects your own nervous system as much as your clients’.
The capstone module supports you in stepping into thoughtful leadership in this emerging field. You’ll distill your own coaching philosophy, who you serve, what you focus on, and how you fit alongside therapy and medication, and turn the course tools into your own signature framework or method. We look at research-informed innovation, content and advocacy that reduce stigma without overselling coaching, and how to design scalable offerings (groups, labs, resources) with clear scope. The module closes with legacy and longevity: what kind of practitioner you are becoming, and how to sustain this work over decades, not just months.
