Very informative
I feel well equipped to handle coaching on completion of this course. I did however find this course slightly less predictable in terms of language style required for responses. This led me to over think and over analyse questions more than I should have. Some added consistency in preferred response style would have been helpful.

Play Therapy Certification
I loved the training. The problem I had is that I did it over a week or so and by doing that it did not check off each audio completed but it did check off the review for each section.

Reflective Practice Entry (Gibbs' Reflective Cycle)
1. Description I’ve been progressing through a comprehensive course in sex therapy that integrates theory, practical tools, and emotional self-awareness. Module 9 especially focused on professional development and burnout prevention, which struck a chord. I’ve engaged with topics such as self-care planning, peer consultation, and reflective practice — areas I’ve often overlooked due to a demanding schedule and emotional load. 2. Feelings Initially, I felt a bit overwhelmed and skeptical about adding more to my plate. But as I worked through the material — particularly the case study with Dr. Shah and Elliot — I noticed a shift. I started feeling seen, validated, and inspired. There’s a mix of relief, curiosity, and a quiet motivation growing. I feel like I’m finally giving myself permission to value my growth as much as I do my clients’. 3. Evaluation Some parts of the course have been deeply affirming — especially those that normalize professional fatigue in emotionally intensive roles. The reflective tools, like Gibbs' model and the structured self-care plans, gave me clear steps instead of vague suggestions. However, I’ve noticed that old habits — like letting client needs override my boundaries — still creep in. That’s something I want to keep working on. 4. Analysis The module made me realize that professional development and self-care aren't separate — they're intertwined. The more I pour into structured growth, the more confident and energized I become. The peer consultation strategies reminded me how nourishing it is to connect with like-minded practitioners. I've also realized that I can't wait for "extra time" to do this work — I need to schedule it like it's sacred. 5. Conclusion I need systems that keep me accountable — not perfection. Even small acts of learning, like reading one article or listening to a podcast while walking, are enough to nourish me and prevent burnout. I also learned that structured reflection helps me catch emotional fatigue before it grows. 6. Action Plan Weekly: Block out one hour for professional reading or podcast listening (Tues mornings or Thurs evenings). Monthly: Journal using Gibbs' cycle after any challenging sessions. Quarterly: Reassess professional development goals and identify any new needs. Immediate: Reach out to 2-3 trusted peers to explore starting a virtual consultation group.
